My Experience Taking the Test Online....

I have been given 30 minutes to answer 30 questions. There are 3 sections in the Online Test but I only have to work on one section only and it was the easy ones.So, this is what I found, did and done from the test..
Good day everyone, today I would like to share something that could be might interesting about online examination that my friend and I do in the lab before this. Honestly, for me it was a good kind of experience to learn and taking part into the online examination. The application of learning through the online examination services is show the progressive of the prospect of online learning especially in language and information technology. Besides that I also can learn more about the information technology is used in the language especially in School Of Language And Linguistic to help the students more comfortable using the online services as a medium for them to gain knowledge.
Unfortunately, online test also have the weaknesses. Besides that, student can cheats during the examination. For example, as happen in my other friends tutorial classes. The portal assessments give 30 questions to answer, but some students got more than 30 marks after they check the marks and sometimes the student’s needs to redone the online test, that's is what my friend's told me. That why, the server need to do some corrections to make sure this problem can be solved and smooth.
Next, I want to say some thing about the language and information technology course that I take for this semester in my own point of view. For me this course make me more confident in using the computer, online, the application that I really do not know before. In my opinion, this course need to maintain the schedule of study because it was proven to help a student like me to improved myself in learning language, information technology and the most important here is I can improve myself a lot.
In this slot, I would like to thanks to our lecturer, Datin to give a lot of attention to us learn about this course and give the chance and also give me the opportunity to continue my lesson in this course. Thank you so much.

COMPUTER-ASSISTED LANGUAGE TESTING (CAT)

Computer-assisted testing (CAT) includes any use of the assistance may be in the form of test-item generation, test delivery, scoring, record keeping, reporting results, providing feedback to examinees, and the like. While CAT programs vary considerably in the range of assistance they provide to testers, ideally they should eliminate as much of the drudgery of testing as possible.
As with many innovations, the question arises: Is computer-assisted testing really profitable? The answer to this query depends on several factors। Budget restrictions, numbers of students, testing frequency, availability of equipment, and so forth are all important। One must also evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of both computer and conventional testing procedures and materials. To assist in such an evaluation, a brief discussion of various features of computer-assisted language testing follows.
From my own point of view, the School of Language Studies and Linguistic views language learning as a continuous development for all motivated learners. In the spirit of this principle, the School is committed to develop new approaches to help support and harness that learning. The development of English Language training modules for in-service lectures and construction of the on-line English placement test are significant example epitomizing lifelong learning practices valued by the School. This inspiration is made into reality by the provision of excellent IT infrastructure and agenda in UKM.
Kind of accesses that have been provides in PPBL;

LearningCare is a web-based fully integrated e-learning solution which provide UKM community a tool to develop, implement and share effectively the use of web-based technology for intra and inter organization learning process. This system includes Portfolio (Courses) Management System, LearningCare Resources and LearningCare Portal System. UKM community is able to subscribe, create and manage the portfolios (courses) available from anywhere in the world.

LearningCare ASSESSMENT FACILITY: LearningCare Assessment module allows the portfolio to create and manage questions. The question can be programmed in several forms, which are

· Fill in the blanks;
· True and false;
· Multiple-choice;
· Multiple answer;
· Matching;
· Ordering;
· Short essay.

All the questions and result of the test takers are kept in a database built in the system. Portfolio owners can select and make informed choices on whether to display certain quiz or test on certain time and date only and the duration of the quiz taken can be specified and controlled. Test takers need specific password to take the assessment exercise. This system also provide randomization of questions, and shuffling of the question which are the basic principal of on-line testing.

THE PROSPECT OF LIFELONG LEARNING....

The concept of lifelong learning is heavily contested, as it can be defined in a number of ways and applied to a range of specific situations, such as the link of economy, or more broadly defined to incorporate all aspects of learning within an individuals life, wherever this be located and whatever it may be applied to.

E-journal in PTSL (Perpustakaan Tun Seri Lanang) is electronic software that gave the opportunity to the student of UKM to search and get information about the journal they want without using traditional search. I have been given a task to make a conduct search on one of the topics that have been given to me. There are, Prospects of Lifelong Learning, The Applications of ICT in Language Learning and E-Learning for Language Studies using three online databases subscribed by TSL. When I used this electronic software I found it is so difficult for me to attach the E-Journal. The system was too slow and always the page cannot be displayed. After I tried for a couple of time, finally I can open the page. This situation not only faced by me, but also almost among my friends.
From the EBCOhost, there is a lot of links including Academic Search Elite, Business Source Premier, Eric, Health Business Fulltext Elite, MAS Ultra School Edition, Medline, Nursing & Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive, PsycINFO, PsycARTICLES, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection and MAS Ultra - Public Library Edition. First of all, I tried login to ERIC.com. Even though it’s not easy to enter the website, but I tried for a couple of time. When I entered the website, I look for the article entitled Prospects of Lifelong Learning. From there, I found there is a lot of article that nearly connected to the title. I also downloaded the article
Then I use another journal article entitled Emerald Fulltext. From this text, I found it is more easy to get the articles but unluckily, the articles are not connected to the title according to the task that given to me.
While I tried to look another article from the e-Journal portal, there was another person come and need to use the computer and gave him. So, my search was end from there…..
